The Utah Sky Trials started back in 1975 when Gerald Richards started inviting other falconers to come and fly on Pigeons at the end of the season to show case their birds. This was called the Pigeon Derby.

Now known as the Utah Sky Trials it is an open to the public event. Even though the Falcons are at the top of their game the pigeons out maneuver and out fly the Falcons the majority to almost always. The falcons will fly up and then drop down on the pigeons and chase them hitting speeds above 100 miles per hour.

This is an amazing event where you get to see falcons doing what they do naturally up close. It is a competition so the birds are judged. Please visit the Utah Sky Trials page to learn more about the event.
