50th Anniversary of the Gerald Richards Sky Trials
We are excited to announce the date and release the logo for the 50th Anniversary of the Gerald Richards Sky Trials! With the mission of “Maintaining the Tradition, Honoring the Man, Keeping the Original Spirit,” the Utah Falconers’ Association is sponsoring this event in collaboration with an advisory board made up of some of Gerald’s closest friends. Keep an eye on this page and follow us for further updates. We will have some exciting announcements coming up in the next few weeks! In the meantime, mark your calendars: January 24-25th, we will be back in Rush Valley, flying falcons in the tradition of Gerald.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to honor Gerald Richards’ rich legacy, which began here in Rush Valley, Utah, and has since expanded to numerous Sky Trials events in multiple countries. With this mission in mind, we will celebrate the tradition of falconry and our falcons for this very special 50th Year Anniversary.

Driving Directions:
-
From I-15 in Lehi, Utah (exit 279), head west on Utah Highway 73. Continue through Lehi, past Eagle Mountain, and through Cedar Valley, as well as the small towns of Cedar Fort and Fairfield.
-
Continue west on Highway 73 for about 5 miles beyond Fairfield until you reach the Tooele County line. Look for signs directing you to Faust and the Pony Express Trail.
-
As Highway 73 curves sharply to the north, turn west off the highway onto the dirt road. Follow this road towards Faust and descend into Rush Valley. Travel 4.3 miles on this road. Note that Google Maps might suggest turning onto other dirt roads prematurely, which could lead to getting stuck. Continue driving until you see the Gerald Richards Sky Trials sign. If you reach the Pony Express Monument on the north side of the road, you have gone too far.
-
When you see the Gerald Richards Sky Trials sign, turn south and proceed 2.6 miles on the dirt road to the flying field.
-
When you reach the gate, close the gate! We do not want the ranchers' cattle getting out.
Schedule of Events
